HEINEKEN v/s KingFisher Ultra
Two similar beers brewed at the same plant by United Breweries and sold as almost the same price with a mean of 140 per pint ( Rate List in Punjab ).
There is a grapewine in the beer scene that it is possible that Ultra is just rebatched Heineken. It is easy believing the claim as the beers are indeed similar and the fact that Heineken practically calls the shots in the United Breweries with a 43 % share hold.
Considering how I am not the regular beer reviewer and I am not at the level ( yet ) to break down the brewing process of both the beers, I'm going to try and put the rumor mills to the rest with a simple analysis that almost all of us beer chuggers can use.

Step one :
The layer of froth and Carbonation
Pour both the beers into a similar glasses, I would recommend an standard Pint Glass for easier pouring.
Heineken has a slightly higher number of bubbles rising and the Head ( Froth ) is stronger ( read visibly larger ).

Step two :
color difference, we could talk a bit about the standard reference method and its measurement but that is beyond the scope of the post, there fore a simple visual method will be used.
Heineken is darker with a less sparkly finish, while the Utlra Sparkles like a diamond ring in a jewelry store with a light yellow finish.

Step three the Taste
Even with a relatively simpler taste card one can notice that the ultra is low on the bitter content.
Heineken is crisper and has a Hoppier after taste than the Kingfisher.
The Ultra feels lighter than the Heineken in both the taste and the smell, it does not have a very distinctive flavour it is just like the KingFisher Light Draught, a good light bodies, malty beer with a mildly sweet after taste. The Heineken on the other hand has a body a few notches above light, and is the perfect mix of a mellow pinch of hoppy bitterness in the sweet malt base.
Step four : Shut up and Drink

Step four : Shut up and Drink
Despite being similar the beers aren't same, and that is a good thing.
In the mass produced market for beers in Indian there are a few beers that pack a punch as good as Ultra and Heineken.
