What do you get when a microbrewer takes over the beer supply of a city ?
A Flat beer which does not ever deserve to be in the league of the DARK beer's. Gabru is a strong beer and a new taste for the Lager chugging Ambarsari, that being said we sure love this beer, so much so that the tanks go dry.
Breaking down GABRU it is a very different Dark Beer, it does not have the Texture of a BOCK and lacks the after taste of a Stout, It is Strong dark for sure but it is not even a DRUNKL. I don't know where do I put this beer, strong and dark but without an aftertaste of Coffee; GABRU is GABRU

Wak Factor ;
 Ghanta WAk, it is a strong beer with a taste of a Light beer and that is not a good thing. I had no wak there fore it gets a score of 1, cant give it a zero ( personal bias ).

Paagi Theeka Kithe :
BREWED by Brew masters, available on licence at n numbers of Bars spread across Punjab, chances of finding Gabru are at par Kingfisher Draught especially in Amritsar.
That is a 4 on a 5 point scale

Monetary Matters :
So the cost varies from Bar to Bar, maxing out at about 250 for a Brit Pint. 250 may seem like a decent price for Half a liter of Beer, let me tell you it is the best price you can get while sitting on a Bar stool and not giving two hoots about the Police wala on the Round ( aka Drinking in the car ).
I give it a Strong 4 OUT of 5.

Chuggability :
Gabru can be chugged from the word go, ive had it at about 3 Bars in Amritsar and the Brewmasters store in Chandigarh, it is the opposite of a crisp beer. Crisp beers are carbonated and are bubbly which makes the gulping down difficult, there is nothing here that qualifies as crisp; so if you need bragging rights of chugging a Dark beer under 10 seconds flat GABRU BC \m/

    This brew doesnot even qualify to be called a beer. Had one at Texas yesterday and was a major disappointment. With its flat, stale craft, that could be chugged like water, i don't understand the hype about this bar.

      Well the hype is the fact that it is a Dark beer and not a Lager. The beauty in dark beers is the roast, and that is there in the Gabru.
      As far as flat is concerned for some reason the Beer by Brewmasters at the Chandigarh and Jalandhar where the brewery is in house is way better than what we get at Amritsar.
      Texas is bar and the hype is for the ambience and the cheaper alcohol rates and not the beer.
      Beer is hyped because it is called Gabru for God sakes Burrrraaaaaa kar te Gulp it down ( chugging made easy )

Thunderbolt Premium Extra Strong BEER

Its been a month since the last time a good beer travelled north of Delhi, deep into the heart of Punjab. With the supreme court tightening the noose around the supply of Alcohol, aapna thekka Chandigarh is rendered useless. We Punjabi's are stuck with an old stock of super strong beer and we take on the Thunderbolt tonight Super bloodystrong beer, 8.25 % alcohol volume, a very bitter after taste. CARLING Premium Strong

My Thekka or the Liquor Store I buy my stock from called up About a New batch with Carling and Haywards etc had come in, and I would no longer have to make do with the Thunderbolt. So we picked up our Helmet and Rode down to the thekka in the middle of a wet evening with occasional thunder to get our beer fix. The ride in the rain was worth it, the BEER... Bleh Not at all... CARLING BRITAINS NUMBER ONE BEER, I did not say that it is written on the bloody Label. Generic Beer at best and too bloody expensive for absolutely no reason. C.B.S.E style point system Color : Buttery Yellow with a Shimmy Finish, just like every other super strong beer on sale in Punjab.
