It takes 6 Gears and 621 kilometres

Image
Riding is Therapy... I started riding 3 years ago when I bought my first bike, I've grown as a rider and as a human in the 30000 odd kilometers I've been on the tarmac. As a noob even I thought riding was therapy, when ever I was angry i'd pick my bike up and drown the noises in my head in the wind blast at speeds greater than 150 and it never worked. The fear of Death was never enough to scare away the demons in the head. It took 621 kilometres and 533 minutes of silence on the saddle to figure out the fact riding alone is never therapeutic. Riding was meant to be a mode of finding peace, it was a mode of enjoying that peace and finding your self in that silence. Being alone with your thoughts locked inside a helmet for kilometers at a stretch, you talk to your self, you argue with your self, and as time progresses and the kilometers tick by, you stop giving a fuck... Issues ? Problems ? As long as there is petrol in my monster, nothing on this planet can hamper my

Bike da Photoshoot

Image
I've been riding with a group called Outlawz Bikers Amritsar for about 3 years now, in the said 3 years I learnt the art of clicking Motorcycles ( stationary ) by a technique frowned upon in the " Quality control " ( #referencetoengineering ) called HIT AND TRIAL METHOD. So it is my job to help the world click better pictures, here goes the first of many post to follow on BIKE DA PHOTOSHOOT. Equipment needed : Camera ( even a phone camera works )  and a Bike Location : Doesn't Matter, the name of the game is Composition. Point one : Go Down Literally go down, when clicking against a well lit background the best thing to do is go as low as possible while keeping the bike in the middle of the frame or towards one corner of the grid, make sure it covers atleast two squares. I forgot to mention always keep the grid on for better compositions, lets face it we are not the MOTOGRAPHER. Point Two : Flash Is Banned Unless it is a passport size picture of your

Corona Is BACK

Image
I have waited so long for the Maize(y) froth less brewed goodness from MEXICO to get its arse back to the liquor vends in Punjab, and it is finally here. A Pale Lager and it is actually quite pale, with a dull straw colored watered down body and a minimal white head that is and should not be called a " HEAD ". Take a Whiff of CORONA and take a Whiff of raw corn the similarities are abundant, and that is a good thing since this pale lager is among the few maize dominant beers available in the Indian beer scene and it stays true to the promise of a Light bodied Corn beer with a minimal hint of the grassy hop feel that at best is hidden in the sweetness form the iota of rice they add in the Beer. Alcoholmeter rating or Daaru ki Pappi 4.5 % is not bad, most medium beers with the same alcohol content get a tad bitter in the end and practically piss like when flat and lukewarm but not the corona, it hides the 4.5 % in the sweetness of the corn and rice, and it hides it

Fosters Light Lager

Malty Baby a good old Malt dominant sweet light Lager that is a much needed change of taste in a state with SUPERSTRONG dominance. Brewed Malty goodness with a Fizzy good head, I'd like a little more bitter Hoppy taste at the end but it is the fruity esters that dominate the bloodhound test of smell and sweet Malty taste that overshadow the minute hop that the beer has. Skipping the beating around the bush as i would like to enjoy the beer more and spend less time judging it, BEERBIKER SCALE DAARU DI PAAPI : Missing in worst case scenario and " Just In "  in the best case... Its a light beer what do we expect under 3.25 claimed and it is, you'd need a 6 pack to get a buzz ( not recommend ) 2 Points Chuggability : Pour it in a open headed glass and even some like me who cannot gulp can chug this baby under 5 seconds. 5 Points Paagi Thekka Kithe : In a state that loves its beer with a knockout punch of alcohol in it, the said beer will not be a

Back to GYM

Shifting gyms is hard from being the beast that people knew to a noob at a new gym. You never can be the biggest or the badest everywhere you choose to lift and that is something I'm still not used to, so first day I choose to mark my territory with a basic endurance dominated circuit I call the 100reds. Bench Press 135 pounds ( 20 kilos per side ) for 60  reps done over 4 sets Bench Press 170 Pounds ( 30 kilos for 30 reps broken down into 3 sets ) Dumbbell 30 kilos on a 15 degree incline bench for 10 reps Legpress 100 kilos warmup set of 20 Followed up with another 40 done in 2 sets keeping weight constant. End it with 140 kilos for 15 reps and then dropping it down to 80 kilos and finishing off a 100 repetitions. Back Attack 135 pounds on the Barbell and 40 kilos on the dumbbell for 10 sets of 10 reps each. With a minute break between sets. We do classic rows for 5 on the Bar then 5 single arm rows on the dumbbell for a total of 100 reps. Pumping it all home with a 10

Sunday The 14th : Beer Story

Image
The day starts with a sleepless night and a 3 hours exam, thank god for chilled beer for sleepless is unbearable. Stop one on the search for the mighty Bira and White Rhino is the Hauz Khas Social... #Dissapointment Budweiser With a country obsessed with INDIA PLE ALE's in the Craft scene this hop less malty sweet beer is on a tangent that feels a little weak. The head is good but Heineken does it better, for a beer that claims to be the king of beers, A big Nope. Chuggable from the word go and even after being awake for 36 hours this Mild beer won't hit, drink on me hearties... Next Step Beer Cafe God bless the creator of beer cafe one stop solution of the BEER fix... We struck gold and found every thing that I had been craving for about an year. Radler by Malt and Co

Image
Radler is basically one part Beer ( usually a Light bodied, Mild Alcohol by volume Lager or a Pilsner ) and one part Lemon Soda or Lemon juice. The said beers falls under a main heading of Beers called Shandy, it is one hell of a refreshing drink. #maltandcochandigarh have take the lead in perfecting summer time beer ( Hops and Grains with their Weiss with Orange Peels is a close second ) A very light drink the Radler, for a better part of the drinking game it does not even feel like a beer, but it has a under tone of the German Lager with a subtle Malty b ase, but the lemon over powers and deciphering the flavour chart is on the complex side of the scale. Minimal head and carbonation, I'm looking for a word that is synonyms with " Flat " but i guess that is how the Beer should be. Less than 5 % ABV and a sweet Lemony after taste... Yo Barkeep! get me a Hulk mug, i'ma chug this baby down by the Liters.
